The Cosmic Microwave Background is a form of electromagnetic radiation that fills the entire universe. It is a random noise that has the same power spectral density across the entire frequency band. Just as white light contains all the frequencies of the visible spectrum, the radiation, also known as white noise, contains all the frequencies of the sonic spectrum. It is believed to be a remnant of the Big Bang that propagates through space almost homogeneously and has a wide bandwidth, although its peak is in the microwave range. It was found by chance by Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson in 1965, who later won the Nobel Prize in Physics for the amazing discovery
The Pale Blue Dot is a photograph of Earth suspended in a sunbeam in the vastness of space 6 billion kilometers away. It was taken on February 14, 1990 by the Voyager 1 space probe at the request of astronomer Carl Sagan, advisor to the mission. The probe was launched by NASA from Cabo Canaveral on September 5, 1977 to explore the limits of the Solar System and the space beyond the influence of our Sun, and communicates with Earth using the Deep Space Network. Since July 1, 2024 it is the most distant object ever created by humans, located at that time 24.4 billion kilometers away
